C:a mått; 135 mm lång,50 mm bred(Fjäril),snodd 1050 mm. Totalvikt 68 gram.

"A skirt lifter, also known as a dress lifter, skirt grip, dress suspender, hem-holder, page or porte-jupe, was a device for lifting a long skirt to avoid dirt or to facilitate movement. It clamped on to the hem and was attached to the belt by a cord, ribbon, or chain.

The first skirt lifters date from around 1846 and they were most popular in the 1860s-1880s"

A wonderful figural example of these highly collectible skirt lifters,
and ingenious invention to clip to the bottom of a lady's skirt and with
the cord lifted away from the water and dirt of the Victorian streets.
The
clips are marked "Fyfe's Patent" and on the other side "Registered Sept
21 1876". This one is decorated with a delightful Butterfly with
stunning repousse decoration. This one is lucky enough to have it's
original black cord on, quite amazing considering it's age, the cord
still being in very good condition with minor wear in areas.
Professionally
polished to gleam, it remains in excellent condition measuring 5 1/2"
in length with the butterfly width measuring 2"...
